1. അനന്തരം യഹോവ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റില് നിന്നു ഇയ്യോബിനോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. From out of a storm, the LORD said to Job:

2. അറിവില്ലാത്ത വാക്കുകളാല് ആലോചനയെ ഇരുളാക്കുന്നോരിവനാര്?

2. Why do you talk so much when you know so little?

3. നീ പുരുഷനെപ്പോലെ അര മുറുക്കികൊള്ക; ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും; എന്നോടു ഉത്തരം പറക.

3. Now get ready to face me! Can you answer the questions I ask?

4. ഞാന് ഭൂമിക്കു അടിസ്ഥാനമിട്ടപ്പോള് നീ എവിടെയായിരുന്നു? നിനക്കു വിവേകമുണ്ടെങ്കില് പ്രസ്താവിക്ക.

4. How did I lay the foundation for the earth? Were you there?

11. ഇത്രത്തോളം നിനക്കുവരാം; ഇതു കടക്കരുതു; ഇവിടെ നിന്റെ തിരമാലകളുടെ ഗര്വ്വം നിലെക്കും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

11. and said, 'Your powerful waves stop here! They can go no farther.'

12. Did you ever tell the sun to rise? And did it obey?

13. Did it take hold of the earth and shake out the wicked like dust from a rug?

14. Early dawn outlines the hills like stitches on clothing or sketches on clay.

15. But its light is too much for those who are evil, and their power is broken.

16. Job, have you ever walked on the ocean floor?

17. മരണത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകള് നിനക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ? അന്ധതമസ്സിന്റെ വാതിലുകളെ നീ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

17. Have you seen the gate to the world of the dead?

18. ഭൂമിയുടെ വിശാലത നീ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ? ഇതൊക്കെയും അറിയുന്നുവെങ്കില് പ്രസ്താവിക്ക.

18. And how large is the earth? Tell me, if you know!

19. Where is the home of light, and where does darkness live?

20. നിനക്കു അവയെ അവയുടെ അതിരോളം കൊണ്ടുപോകാമോ? അവയുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള പാത അറിയാമോ?

20. Can you lead them home?

21. നീ അന്നേ ജനിച്ചിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; നിനക്കു ആയുസ്സു ഒട്ടും കുറവല്ലല്ലോ; നീ അതു അറിയാതിരിക്കുമോ?

21. I'm certain you must be able to, since you were already born when I created everything.

22. നീ ഹിമത്തിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തോളം ചെന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ? കന്മഴയുടെ ഭണ്ഡാരം നീ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

22. Have you been to the places where I keep snow and hail,

23. until I use them to punish and conquer nations?

24. From where does lightning leap, or the east wind blow?

26. on empty deserts where no one lives?

27. ജലപ്രവാഹത്തിന്നു ചാലും ഇടിമിന്നലിന്നു പാതയും വെട്ടിക്കൊടുത്തതാര്?

27. Rain that changes barren land to meadows green with grass.

28. മഴെക്കു അപ്പനുണ്ടോ? അല്ല, മഞ്ഞുതുള്ളികളെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചതാര്?

28. Who is the father of the dew and of the rain?

31. Can you arrange stars in groups such as Orion and the Pleiades?

32. നിനക്കു രാശിചക്രത്തെ അതിന്റെ കാലത്തു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കാമോ? സപ്തര്ഷികളെയും മക്കളെയും നിനക്കു നടത്താമോ?

32. Do you control the stars or set in place the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper?

33. ആകാശത്തിലെ നിയമങ്ങളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവോ? അതിന്നു ഭൂമിമേലുള്ള സ്വാധീനത നിര്ണ്ണയിക്കാമോ?

33. Do you know the laws that govern the heavens, and can you make them rule the earth?

34. ജലപ്രവാഹം നിന്നെ മൂടേണ്ടതിന്നു നിനക്കു മേഘങ്ങളോളം ശബ്ദം ഉയര്ത്താമോ?

34. Can you order the clouds to send a downpour,

35. അടിയങ്ങള് വിടകൊള്ളുന്നു എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു പുറപ്പെടുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിനക്കു മിന്നലുകളെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കാമോ?

35. or will lightning flash at your command?

36. അന്തരംഗത്തില് ജ്ഞാനത്തെ വെച്ചവനാര്? മനസ്സിന്നു വിവേകം കൊടുത്തവന് ആര്?

36. Did you teach birds to know that rain or floods are on their way?

37. ഉരുക്കിവാര്ത്തതുപോലെ പൊടിതമ്മില് കൂടുമ്പോഴും മണ്കട്ട ഒന്നോടൊന്നു പറ്റിപ്പോകുമ്പോഴും

37. Can you count the clouds or pour out their water

38. ജ്ഞാനത്താല് മേഘങ്ങളെ എണ്ണുന്നതാര്? ആകാശത്തിലെ തുരുത്തികളെ ചരിക്കുന്നതാര്?

38. on the dry, lumpy soil?

39. സിംഹങ്ങള് ഗുഹകളില് പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുമ്പോഴും അവ മുറ്റുകാട്ടില് പതിയിരിക്കുമ്പോഴും

39. When lions are hungry, do you help them hunt?

40. നീ സിംഹിക്കു ഇര വേട്ടയാടിക്കൊടുക്കുമോ? ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ വിശപ്പടക്കുമോ?

40. Do you send an animal into their den?

41. കാക്കകൂഞ്ഞുങ്ങള് ഇരകിട്ടാതെ ഉഴന്നു ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോള് അതിന്നു തീന് എത്തിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നതാര്?

41. And when starving young ravens cry out to me for food, do you satisfy their hunger?
